Change history

This page records changes to the rules and policies that affect players and community members. It is limited to published content. It does not include website code, hosting work, automated checks, internal planning, repository metadata, private reports, moderation cases, or account information.

The classifications used below are:

  • Editorial: spelling, grammar, punctuation, or presentation changes that are not intended to change meaning.
  • Clarity: rewritten, reordered, or consolidated wording that may affect how a rule is understood.
  • Policy: a change to permissions, obligations, enforcement, sanctions, privacy, data handling, or member rights.
  • Draft: public content that is still under review and is not final.

Summer 2026 correction and clarification

Most day-to-day gameplay rules remain in place. This release corrects and clarifies the existing rules, resolves several contradictory passages, and makes important safety and privacy expectations explicit. It is not the future short-form rewrite of the complete rules.

The obsolete baseline-preview notice was removed from the current rules page when this release took effect. This presentation correction did not alter any rule or policy wording.

Minimum age

Previously, several passages said that members had to be at least 13, while another passage described that restriction as a rule that would not be firmly enforced. The wording about a parent or guardian joining with a child could also be read as an exception.

The rule now consistently states that members must be at least 13 years old and must meet any higher minimum age required by the laws of their country. It applies to the forums, Discord server, and Minecraft server. A parent or guardian being present does not waive the requirement.

When someone becomes old enough, they may ask for access to be restored. An age restriction is not treated as a ban appeal and does not consume an appeal or second-chance opportunity.

Minecraft bans and appeals

Classification: Policy

The previous rules directed ban appeals to a public forum and contained conflicting statements about whether appeals would be considered. They also treated appeals submitted after roughly 10 to 14 days as automatically declined.

The replacement policy now provides the following process:

  • Minecraft ban appeals normally use a private support ticket in the 1MoreBlock Discord server.
  • An appeal should preferably be submitted within 14 days. A later appeal may be considered, but review is not guaranteed.
  • Only the person who owns and controls the sanctioned Minecraft account may appeal.
  • Each person has at most one appeal and one second-chance opportunity after a valid sanction.
  • Correcting a staff mistake does not consume that appeal or second chance.
  • Friends and other third parties may not appeal or pressure the team on someone else's behalf.
  • Severe conduct or a later ban after a second chance may result in a final decision without another appeal.
  • A narrow exception may be considered when someone genuinely cannot create or use a Discord account. This is not a way around a Discord restriction.

This process applies to Minecraft sanctions. It does not create a right to appeal a Discord or forum restriction.

Community safety

Classification: Policy and clarity

Safety requirements were previously spread across general, Minecraft, Discord, and privacy passages. They are now consolidated into one community-wide section that applies to accounts and member-created content across the forums, Discord, and Minecraft.

The rules now explicitly address:

  • Using alternate, shared, or other people's accounts to hide responsibility or evade a sanction
  • Threats, impersonation, scams, phishing, and malicious links or files
  • Seeking, exposing, sharing, or threatening to expose private or identifying information without permission
  • Grooming, sexual exploitation, and soliciting sexual content from anyone under 18
  • Truthful private reporting, including a prohibition on fabricated evidence, knowingly false reports, and organized public call-outs

Alternate accounts and shared household connections remain allowed when each person owns the account they use and the accounts are not used for evasion.

The rules also clarify that personal gifts and the discretionary Patron status do not buy ownership, staff authority, exemption from the rules, guaranteed access, or guaranteed future benefits.

Fair play, clients, and visibility

Classification: Clarity

The fair-play wording was rewritten to distinguish permitted convenience or accessibility features from tools that reveal hidden information or automate active play.

  • Being AFK remains allowed. Anti-AFK methods and automated gains of money, items, levels, playtime rewards, or other benefits remain prohibited.
  • Semi-automated sorting, farming or harvesting, and piston doors are not automatically prohibited by the rule against unattended auto-grinding.
  • Simple minimaps are permitted only when they do not reveal prohibited caves, tunnels, structures, points of interest, mobs, or players.
  • Brightness-only enhancements are permitted during ordinary survival play.
  • X-ray, freecam, cave-revealing tools, hidden-block or hidden-entity reveals, and similar unfair visibility features remain prohibited.
  • Using a visibility enhancement to gain an advantage when darkness is part of an event or challenge is treated as cheating.

The existing prohibitions on cheating, duping, unfair automation, server harm, and deliberately exploiting bugs remain in place.

Privacy, logging, and data visibility

Classification: Policy and public draft

Privacy and moderation disclosures were previously split between the forum rules thread and a separate forum policy. The rules site now contains a Summer 2026 Privacy Policy draft covering the forums, Discord server, Minecraft server, rules website, community support, reports, appeals, moderation, email, and optional personal gifts.

The draft explains:

  • What categories of account, message, gameplay, technical, support, and moderation information may be handled
  • Why information may be used to operate, secure, restore, and moderate the community
  • When relevant Minecraft messages, commands, signs, books, item names, logs, and surrounding context may be reviewed
  • How access differs by service, staff role, and operational need
  • General retention practices, backups, service providers, security, and privacy requests
  • That ordinary Discord direct messages are not visible to the 1MoreBlock team
  • That 1MoreBlock does not record or retain Discord voice conversations
  • That 1MoreBlock does not sell personal information or build advertising profiles about members

This privacy policy remains a working draft. It identifies details that still need verification instead of presenting them as final promises. Meaningful future changes to data handling will receive a separate community notice.

Terminology draft

Classification: Draft

A public Terminology draft now defines recurring words used in the rules and policies. It helps identify unclear boundaries and future policy questions. Its definitions do not create a new violation or change a consequence unless they are separately approved and added to the operative rules.

Editorial and readability corrections

The complete rules received several focused editing passes. These changes:

  • Corrected spelling, grammar, punctuation, capitalization, pronouns, and tense
  • Broke down long sentences and replaced passive or legalistic wording with clearer language
  • Removed repeated introductory and AFK wording
  • Standardized names such as 1MoreBlock, OMGboards, Discord, OptiFine, Litematica, MiniHUD, and Community Standards for Minecraft
  • Improved headings, lists, examples, and Markdown presentation
  • Replaced unnecessarily hostile wording with firm but more welcoming language
  • Centralized official contact details on the Contact page instead of repeating them in every page footer

The initial spelling pass made these seven exact corrections:

These editorial passes were not intended to create additional violations or remove existing gameplay protections. Where wording could affect interpretation, the change is described separately above.

The previous OMGboards thread remains available as the earlier public wording. The current rules and linked policy pages contain the wording that applies now.

Future published content changes will receive a dated entry on this page. Purely technical website work will not appear here unless it changes what community members are asked to read or follow.
